The Edinburgh Art Festival showcases a brilliantly diverse and vibrant programme of visual arts exhibitions and events. Audiences can see prize-winners, agent provocateurs, world premiers, old masters, Glasgow boys, the next big thing, work that has become part of our social history and work by artists who will undoubtedly shape the cultural landscape of our future. The Festival does not curate any of these exhibitions, and yet it exists to bring this work to the largest number of people. Our specially commissioned events programme reflects themes that stand out from a collection of work of such magnitude and provides a jumping off point for young and old, art savvy or otherwise. The 2007 programme was our largest yet, and has drawn record audiences.
