Descriptive Touch Tours at Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop

Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop

Specifically designed for people who are blind or partially sighted, the tours will take place in and beside the Courtyard and Beacon Tower at ESW.

Ashanti Harris’s exhibition references a carnival in the making, and the Caribbean, combining sculptural and costume elements, and performance.

Descriptive Tours Schedule:

Saturday 30 July: 11am – 12pm

Saturday 30 July: 12.30pm – 2pm - performance from 1pm - 1.30pm

Friday 12 August: 11am – 12pm

Friday 12 August: 1pm – 2pm

In addition to the descriptive element of the Tours, there will be pieces provided to hold, some of the larger installed works can also be handled, and modified oil drums can be played.

On 30 July, the Descriptive Touch Tour starting at 12.30pm is timed to coincide with the performance in the courtyard.

For the other three Descriptive Touch Tours, the audio from the performance will play in the tower and this will be part of these tours.
