Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop presents Psycho Capital, a new commission from Calum Craik.
Craik’s new work examines the current neoliberal capitalist landscape. We navigate through a stage of construction debris, worker uniforms, defensive architecture and AirBnB rentals to arrive at a psycho-physical space. His sculptural vocabulary uses discarded materials and everyday items to examine labour, class, changing economies and complicity.
Calum Craik is an interdisciplinary artist and curator working between Scotland and the USA. Craik’s work has been exhibited internationally, including at The Royal Standard, Liverpool, Nurture Art, Brooklyn, and San Francisco Arts Commission Galleries. He has spoken at Real Time and Space in Oakland and been interviewed by Berkeley Art Center. Craik has recently completed residencies at Headlands Center and ESW. His recent work has been written about by critic and historian Tausif Noor for Foundwork.art. Craik has taught at San Francisco State University and conducted workshops with Edinburgh College.
