Each year Edinburgh Art Festival presents new publicly-sited works across the city, opening up new spaces and offering unique opportunities to experience hidden corners of Edinburgh.

Each year the festival issues a call for projects and events conceived especially for the festival. Taking place in pop-up venues across the city, this programme is a chance to discover new work, including exhibitions, events and activities all in unusual spaces and places.

A festival showcase for artists at the beginning of their careers. Four individual artists or collaborative teams are selected from across Scotland from an open call.

A series of exclusively programmed evening tours between partner galleries and festival venues, taking in artist talks, curator’s tours, live music and performance.

Several commissions have remained permanently in the city, available to visit all year round.

Explorers is our free programme of activities, workshops and events for children, families and young people.

Our programme includes a wide range of events, talks, tours and performances, offering the opportunity to hear artists and experts speak about the wider context of the artworks and the themes of the Festival.
