Leith Day

9th August 25

Join EAF for an afternoon of back-to-back launch events from our Leith-based Partner Galleries. Travel from Bard by the Shore, along to the Travelling Gallery’s Coburg Studios stop, up to Sett Studios, and finally along to Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop for an exciting launch evening.

Find out more about the offerings from each gallery below.

Bard | 12noon—2pm
Brandon Logan: Little Low Heavens

Orcadian artist Brandon Logan presents an intimate collection of his vibrant minimalist paintings, curated for the domestic spaces at Bard. Logan’s palette draws from Orkney’s environment and culture, yet channels a new queer take on abstraction

Travelling Gallery: Coburg Studios | 2—4pm
SEEDLINGS: DIASPORIC IMAGINARIES

SEEDLINGS is a group exhibition exploring ways to connect with our worlds through other-than-human perspectives, challenging the boundaries between culture and nature.

Sett Studios | 4—6pm
FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS

In a packed salon-style exhibition, Sett Studios invites friends of the studio over to run the space. Showcasing the incredible creative energy of this artist-run studio, the exhibition strives for more DIY, more emerging artists, and more community preservation.

Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop | 7—9pm
LAUNCH Louise Gibson: Beachheads
Megan Rudden: Love in the Ecotone

Celebrate the launch of Beachheads, a series of monumental sculptures crafted from discarded industrial and household materials, that speak of the excesses of contemporary consumer culture — and the environmental and social consequences it entails. Join also for a celebration of Love in the Ecotone, a body of new work from Megan Rudden exploring the idea of the ecotone, a transitional space between two states, where these two distinct systems clash and transform.
