Bard hosts Upended, the inaugural exhibition of Edinburgh-based artist and activist Matthew Hyndman. Hyndman’s work explores and subverts the realms of self-portraiture and landscape photography simultaneously.
Through Hyndman’s subversion, audiences that may have become numb to these vistas from their over-use in tourism campaigns and across social media are made to see the view anew. Against the great tradition of Scottish landscape photography, Hyndman describes his work as an act of defiance and liberation.
