Correspondances

Lala Rascic’s work draws upon the aesthetics of old time radio plays where the performative act is the basis of assuming different identities. The artist often acts out multiple roles while playing with realities and developing fictitious narratives in her projects.

Rascic is ARC Projects’ first international artist-in-residence in Edinburgh. Her residency will create artefacts which will be presented as part of Correspondances – a solo exhibition online during the Edinburgh Art Festival.

Lala Rascic was born in Sarajevo in 1977. She lives and works in Amsterdam and Zagreb. Recently, Rascic has exhibited at The Young Artists’ Biennial, Bucharest; The Kitchen, New York; Overtones Gallery, Los Angeles; and Platform Garanti Contemporary Art Center, Istanbul. Forthcoming this year is her solo exhibition at the National Art Gallery of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarajevo.

Presented by ARC Projects in partnership with Threshold artspace, Perth. Co-funded by the Scottish Arts Council and Croatian Ministry of Culture.
