Everybody Comes To HolyroodEverybody Comes to Holyrood creates a timely dialogue between a distinctly local phenomenon – the media frenzy of the Edinburgh Festivals and the work of an international range of contemporary artists. It focuses on our relationship with mass media and, more particularly, representations of fame and glamour; its mechanisms for promoting the consumption of stardom, fame and luxury. In effect, Everybody Comes to Holyrood is a survey of the way in which a number of artists engage with these themes – or their darker counterpoints – despite working with different disciplines. This international show includes artists whose practices range from painting/photography to film/three-dimensional work. It includes both young artists and those who are already internationally recognised. Curator: Ken Pratt |
