Scottish Painting 1750 – 1950The exhibition begins in the 18th century with portraiture by William Aikman and from here moves to the end of that century and into the early years of the 19th century with examples of landscape painting by Rev. John Thomson of Duddingston and portraiture by Sir Henry Raeburn. It continues through the nineteenth century and culminates with The Glasgow Boys and a beautiful and intimate portrait of a young girl by E A Walton before finishing in the twentieth century with work by the Edinburgh School which includes a rare painting of St Raphael in the south of France by Anne Redpath.
