David Hockney RA Two decades of printmaking

An exhibition exploring the contrast in style and technique of David Hockney’s printmaking output between the years of 1961 and 1982. From crude graffiti to elegant line drawing, from academic precision to fluid gesture this exhibition examines the etchings, aquatints and lithographs inspired by the poems of Cavafy, the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm, Picasso and his own personal life, a seminal statement of Hockney’s artistic identity.
