Ian McCulloch: Recycled Lives, 1997 – 2007This exhibition consists of a small survey of McCulloch’s work from the later 1990s to the present. During this period the artist moved through printmaking, constructions, ceramics and paintings, all underpinned in the first instance by drawings but in turn, leading him to explore the possibilities afforded by different visual art media in order to find a way to continue working. In the process, McCulloch found himself not only working with relief printmaking, but also returning to materials he had not worked with since his time at art school and the years immediately thereafter.
The Curious Eye: Drawing from NatureSelected by John Busby ‘The Curious Eye’ is a group show of RSA members and invited artists whose work looks to nature for inspiration. Hosted in the RSA Library and the Friends Coffee Room, the paintings, prints, drawings, sculptures, sketchbooks and texts, including works from the Collection of the RSA, come together to give us an intimate glimpse through the curious eye of the artist. RSA members include: Dame Elizabeth Blackadder, John Busby, Alfons Bytautus, Alex Campbell, Victoria Crowe, George Donald, Stuart Duffin, Richard Demarco, James Fairgrieve, Ronald Forbes, Alexander Fraser, John Houston, Eileen Lawrence, Marian Leven, David Michie, Glen Onwin, Frances Pelly, Frank Pottinger, Keith Rand, Philip Reeves, Sylvia Wishart, Denis Peploe, James Cumming and Patrick Syme. |
