Edinburgh’s Old Town offers new and historic artwork alike.
Exit Waverley Station to find a host of galleries on one another’s doorsteps. Large-scale installations, classical painting, intimate photography and more sit side-by-side against the backdrop of the city’s Gothic architecture.
EAF commissions cast a fresh eye on Edinburgh’s historic spaces, bringing forth the narratives people have fought to remember. A voiceless sound shaking a cathedral; a familiar object behind museum glass; warm torchlight burning in the dark: the city’s history is viewed through a new lens, drawing stories out of the archives and holding them up to the light.
