Following her successful solo show in Edinburgh last August, artist Frances Richardson returns to the gallery with a compelling body of new work including a series of drawings based on playing cards.
Since 1997 Frances has used the signs ‘+’ and ‘’ to form her drawings, using various densities of lead pencil to produce visual paths and rhythms on the surface of the paper. Frances’ work is in private and public collections including the Victoria & Albert Museum London, and the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, USA. Since graduating from the Royal College of Art, London in 2006 she has exhibited both nationally and internationally. In 2008 her work was shown at the HP Garcia Gallery in New York and will also be part of ARTfutures London later this year.
