The work featured in Mutatis Mutandis moves between performance, installation, photography, video and painting, jostling to coalesce each artist’s voyage within the world as we perceive it. By overlaying these works with performances and their ephemera, the hierarchy of surfaces, incidents and dimensions is questioned.
Bringing together artists from the UK and further afield who work with fiction, storytelling, and postmythical popular culture, this exhibition loosens up notions of narrative and experience. The Embassy wants to champion the craftsmanship and physical manifestation of performance art, the residue, props, costumes and documentation that constitute more than mere remainder. The performance series is therefore an integral component of the exhibition Mutatis Mutandis as it develops over four weeks. The artists include Yason Banal, Mare Tralla, David Sherry and Hotpants Romance.

The Annuale
Now in it’s fifth year The Annuale, running throughout August, creates a loose association between artistrun activities existent in the city all year round. The Annuale is a clarion call to unite Edinburgh’s artistrun initiatives and champion grass roots operations.
The Skinny will be coordinating a bus tour that will travel to all of The Annuale venues.
