Royal Scottish Academy of Art and Architecture – ReSeArch: RSA Residencies for Scotland
The Mound, Edinburgh, EH2 2EL. 0131 225 6671ReSeArch: RSA Residencies for Scotland
Highlighting the work of RSA Residency participants who have completed RSA opportunities in 2007/08.
From 2009 the residency programme will be developed by collaborating with studios and residency centres across Scotland towards a more flexible approach to residency opportunities and the creation of new work. Developing stronger relationships with these ‘centres of excellence’ will help to fulfill the RSA’s national remit.
Accompanied by interpretative panels highlighting the work of the ‘centres of excellence’, the exhibition looks towards the formation of an invigorated network of funding and support for research and creation of new work.
The exhibition also provides a presence for centres located throughout Scotland in Edinburgh at this busy time.
Artists included range from emerging to established artists - Eoghann MacColl (Sabhal Mor Resident), Katie Orton (RSA Hospitalfield) as well as artists from the RSA John Kinross Scholarship, RSA Barns Graham Travel Award, the RSA Morton Award and a range of residency awards developed in conjunction with the RSA New Contemporaries exhibition (formerly the RSA Student Exhibition).
In collaboration with the Scottish Arts Council.
