At the launch of a new arts space, The Gallery at Eskmills, Polarcap returns to the Edinburgh Art Festival with Eskimo.
Fourteen artists, ranging from the emergent to the internationally proven, have been invited to respond to the uniqueness of the new gallery space, a former industrial fishing net factory, which has been recently renovated and provides a spectacular setting for new art.
The artists are Graham Fagen (Scotland), Graeme Todd (Scotland), Dean Hughes (England), Kuehne+Klein (Switzerland), Ian Hamilton Finlay (Scotland), San Keller (Switzerland), Alexander Guy (Scotland), Gary Fisher (Scotland), Kevin Henderson (Scotland), Trine Pederson (Denmark), Iain Patterson (Scotland), Norman Shaw (Scotland), Michael Windle (Scotland) and Liz Adamson (Scotland).
This exciting work is presented in a variety of different media including painting, drawing, digital projection, sculpture, photography and performance.
After the success of No More Stars at Edinburgh College of Art and West Barns Studios, Dunbar (“Polarcap is back with a vengeance….” Scotsman Aug 2007), The Gallery at Eskmills is the setting for an equally ambitious exhibition worthy of the uniqueness of this new space.
Polarcap would like to acknowledge the support of Edinburgh College of Art, East Lothian Council and the Scottish Arts Council.
