Getting Here

Edinburgh is easy to reach from the UK and abroad.  For unparalleled views and ease of access, we recommend arriving by train to Waverley Train Station, the only station in the world named after a novel and situated at the heart of the city. The Edinburgh Festivals website is a very good first point of call to help plan your visit.

Getting Around

Edinburgh is supremely walkable as a city.  To help you find your way around, each year we commission an illustrated map which includes all of our exhibitions and commissions, plus other useful landmarks. Our newest edition (by Robbie Porter) will be freely available at participating galleries and to download.

Visitors may wish to download the free Transport for Edinburgh app which gives up to date information on buses and trams. iPhone users can download it here, and Android users can download it here.
