Overview

To find out what’s on for families at this year’s festival, pick up an Edinburgh Art Festival Explorers map from the Kiosk, Dazzle Hub or participating galleries. In this guide you will find full listings of workshops and activity stations for children of all ages, as well as a free fun activity trail.

 

Explorers Libraries:
Explorers will run workshops for all ages inspired by our commissions theme of Monuments in Edinburgh Libraries across the city every Wednesday in the summer holidays.

Art Early:
This year, we are hosting a specially programmed Art Early for families and children of all ages. A family-fun arts event inspired by our Art Late programme, join us for a morning of activities at each venue, culminating in a summer picnic. 

Sat 6 August:
Tour of Monuments Commissions programme.

Sat 13 August:
Including Fruitmarket, Dovecot and Talbot Rice Gallery.

Project Dazzle:
This year our Explorers programme moves down to Leith to celebrate Dazzle Ship Scotland, co-commissioned with 14-18 NOW. Project Dazzle invites your mini artists to become dazzle designers at our special Dazzle hub located within Ocean Terminal.

Drop in arts activities will be available Friday to Sunday. Every Thursday we will have dazzle workshops for families and under 5s in the morning; and ages 5–12 in the afternoon.
