Tours, Performance and PARTY!

Tours
Choice of three tours: The Giving Tour part 2, The Blank Canvas Bike Tour and a Spin Tour

Edinburgh Artists Tessa Lynch, Shona Handley, Rocca Gutteridge and the arts initiative Spin have been specially commissioned by EAF to develop Art Late tours.  This is a great opportunity to see multiple venues participating in the Art Festival in a participatory tour led by local artists.

Begin at Ingleby Gallery where you are invited from 6pm for a drink and a specially commissioned performance by musician Wounded Knee and dancer Ianthe Wright.
6:45 set off on a tour with your guides.
To book a space on a tour or for more information please email: [email protected]

The Giving Tour part 2 - Tessa Lynch and Shona Handley
‘Giving’ will be an important part of Tessa and Shona’s tour. Both artists are connoisseurs of Gallery Gift Shops and Cafes, interested in Art tourism and the keepsakes that it generates. Canvas bags, t-shirts and posters can provide a personal gallery curated from the commercial offshoots of bigger artistic idols. They would like to take you on a tour where gifts will be revealed and created, all in the context of the exhibitions and designed to enable further engagement with the art work. The 2009 Giving Tour will bring participants cocktails, Kodak moments and cardboard keepsakes.
Schedule: Ingleby 6:45, Stills, Collective Gallery, New Media Scotland, Edinburgh Printmakers, Grey Gallery, Talbot Rice

The Blank Canvas Bike Tour
– Rocca Gutteridge (and friends) with support from Waste Innovation
Participation and fun will be at the heart of Rocca Gutteridge’s Blank Canvas Bike tour. She has devised an interactive tour around various venues in Art Late which will encourage you to get active while collaborating and conversing with fellow participants. Join Rocca and her team of marshals to experience the exhibitions and create your own artistic responses by transforming the Blank Canvas Bikes to travelling galleries of your team's work. The tour culminates in an exhibition with prizes awarded for the best/worst/funniest effort!
Schedule: Ingleby Gallery 6:45, Travelling Gallery, The Grey Gallery, Scottish National Portrait Gallery
doggerfisher, Dovecot

Spin Tour
Spin is a contemporary art members' group dedicated to the enjoyment of contemporary art. It is based on the principle that the most immediate and entertaining way of approaching contemporary art is to discuss individual works in a sociable setting, which appeals to both beginners and experienced viewers alike.

For Art Late, Spin has specially created a tour of their highlights of the galleries in Art Late. The tour will be a combination of insightful information and lively discussion, all facillitated by your Spin host. Aimed at people with all levels of interest and knowledge of contemporary art, it is a unique chance for non-Spin members to attend a Spin tour and is only available to those who sign up for Art Late.

Spin and Blank Canvas Bike tours made possible with kind support from:

Further Information on Spin
Spin was established in 2003 by the Education Department at the National Galleries of Scotland. Its members meet on the last Thursday of every month in galleries and more unusual exhibiting spaces across Edinburgh. In 2006, Spin: Glasgow was launched by Culture and Sport Glasgow, and takes place on the third Wednesday of every month to enable Spin: Edinburgh members to take part and vice versa.
