Masooma Syed

Masooma Syed studied painting and later studied M.A. in Visual Arts from the National College of Arts, Lahore. She has exhibited in Pakistan and abroad, participating in several artist-in-residencies and workshops held at Khoj, New Delhi, Vasl Karachi, HAT International Research Fellowship at Manchester Metropolitan University and College of Fine Arts, University of New South Wales, Sydney. Syed has vast teaching experience having worked at various art institutions like The National College of Arts, Lahore; Beaconhouse National University, Lahore; Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture, Karachi; Kathmandu University, Nepal and Manchester Metropolitan University, England.
Her works have been exhibited in group shows including Fukuoka Asian Art Trienniale, Japan; Harris Museum and Art Gallery, England, Metropolitan Museum Tokyo, Apex Art, New York and Kunsthalle Fridericianum, Kassel, Germany. After relocating to New Delhi a decade ago, she has participated in museum exhibitions at Kiran Nadar Museum of Art and Devi Art Foundation, both in New Delhi and National Gallery of Modern Art, Mumbai apart from showing extensively with galleries like Anant Gallery, Art Alive and Vadehra Art Gallery, New Delhi.
